The Lila Poonawalla Foundation (LPF) hosted its Undergraduate Scholarship Award Function on December 13, presenting merit-cum-need-based scholarships to numerous young women pursuing nursing education. This event underscores LPF's commitment to supporting financially challenged yet academically strong students in building professional careers within the healthcare sector.
This year, LPF distributed 1,450 scholarships, aiding students in both undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programs. Reflecting on the foundation's 30-year journey, Chairperson Lila Poonawalla expressed pride in empowering close to 19,000 'LILA Daughters.' The foundation's support extends beyond financial aid, encompassing crucial skill development, career counseling, and industry exposure.
The ceremony featured inspiring words from Chief Guest Shefali Bajaj and Guest of Honour Tejaswini Sable, a nursing officer and LILA Girl 2014. Sable emphasized the importance of empathy and compassion in nursing practice. The event highlighted LPF's broad mission to empower women across various fields, including Engineering, Nursing, Pure Sciences, and Health Sciences, fostering confident professionals and future leaders.
