On Tuesday, the Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology in Kanpur was awarded the prestigious Outstanding Agricultural University Award. The award was presented during the Agricultural Scientist Honor Ceremony and National Symposium held on the 36th Foundation Day of the Uttar Pradesh Council of Agricultural Research in Lucknow.
The university's vice-chancellor, Dr. Anand Kumar Singh, received the Honorary Fellow 2024 award. Additionally, the director of extension, Dr. RK Yadav, was honored with the Best Scientist in Crop Improvement and Lifetime Achievement Award. Other faculty members, including Dr. PK Singh, Dr. VK Tripathi, and Dr. Shweta Yadav, were recognized for their contributions in Crop Science, Horticultural Science, and Genetics and Plant Breeding, respectively.
Notably, the university's Agricultural Science Center in Lakhimpur Kheri was also commended for its outstanding extension activities. The awards were recommended by the UP Agricultural Academic Committee during its meeting on February 4, 2025.
