Juilliard's school of drama is ushering in new interim leadership starting at the conclusion of the current academic year. This change follows the departure of Richard Rodgers Dean and Director Evan Yionoulis, who is moving to lead the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale University after an eight-year tenure.
Ara Guzelimian, formerly Juilliard's provost and an artistic advisor at Carnegie Hall, will return to serve as the interim Richard Rodgers Dean and Director. Supporting the new leadership, faculty members Richard Feldman and Jenny Lord, along with alumnus Jimonn Cole, will act as interim co-associate deans.
These co-associate deans will focus on student mentorship and artistic support for the first three years of scene study during the upcoming academic year. Additionally, Juilliard trustee and drama alumna Laura Linney will contribute as an artistic advisor to the drama division, offering crucial guidance during this transitional period.
