The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (Jipmer) is preparing for its 14th convocation, scheduled for Tuesday, January 20, 2026. This significant academic event will be graced by the presence of Anupriya Patel, Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilizers, who will serve as the chief guest and deliver the convocation address.
The ceremony will honor the academic achievements of 941 students who are set to receive their degrees. These graduates span a range of programs, including PhD, DM, M.Ch., MD, MS, MDS, and MBBS. The institution will also celebrate academic excellence by awarding medals and endowment prizes to 180 students across undergraduate, postgraduate, and super-specialty categories for their outstanding performance.
During the convocation, Jipmer president Chitra Sarkar will preside, and director Vir Singh Negi will present a report detailing the institution's advancements in medical education, patient care, and research. Dignitaries including Lt. Governor K. Kailashnathan and Chief Minister N. Rangasamy are also expected to attend.
