Jammu and Kashmir Schools Shut for Pooja Holidays

As of October 16, 2025, the Jammu and Kashmir government has announced that all government and recognised private schools up to the higher secondary level in the Jammu division will remain closed from October 19 to November 2 for Pooja holidays. This order, issued by the Directorate of School Education Jammu, directs all educational institutions in the region to observe the festive break.
Similar closures are being observed in other parts of the country as well. In Rajasthan, government and private schools will be closed from October 13 to 24 to allow students to celebrate Diwali with their families. In Noida, schools are expected to be closed for Diwali from October 20 to 23, although an official notice is yet to be issued by the local administration.
The Puducherry government has also declared a quarterly holiday for schools from October 15 to 21, 2025, following the completion of quarterly examinations on October 14, with classes set to resume on October 22.

Alongside the school closures, the University of Jammu has postponed examinations scheduled for October 20, 22, and 23 due to the festive season. Students have been advised to stay in touch with their respective colleges for updates regarding the rescheduled exams.
