Des Moines University and Central College have formed a new partnership designed to enhance educational opportunities in health sciences for students across Iowa.
This collaboration provides Central College students with reserved seats and guaranteed interviews for select programs at Des Moines University. These opportunities are available starting this month.
Specifically, one seat in Des Moines University's doctorate programs for podiatric medicine, occupational therapy, and physical therapy will be reserved for qualified Central College students. Additionally, guaranteed interviews are offered for doctoral programs in osteopathic medicine and biomedical sciences, alongside master's programs.
A 3+3 program allows undergraduates in occupational therapy to concurrently earn undergraduate and graduate credits. Des Moines University's public health and healthcare administration master's programs will also enable early credit accumulation for Central students.
This partnership aims to attract academically strong students and prepare them for careers in medicine and health sciences, thereby addressing the state's need for healthcare professionals.
