In a major push for student innovation, the Ministry of Education has launched the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025, India's largest student innovation initiative. The program, developed in partnership with the Atal Innovation Mission and NITI Aayog, is aimed at inspiring young minds from classes 6 to 12 to design, innovate, and address real-life challenges through creativity and teamwork.
The Buildathon is positioned as a platform for experiential learning, helping students apply their classroom knowledge to real-world contexts. Participants will develop ideas and prototypes around four central themes of national importance, with the goal of nurturing problem-solving, innovation, and collaboration skills.
To ensure inclusivity, the initiative is focusing on participation from aspirational districts, tribal regions, and remote areas, ensuring that innovation reaches every corner of India. The program is expected to involve lakhs of students across the country, making it the world's largest live innovation activity for schools.
The most promising teams will not only win prizes but also receive long-term mentorship and corporate support to refine and scale their innovations, further empowering the next generation of problem-solvers and changemakers.
