27 Oct
Summary
- High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswami extends warm welcome to Indian students
- Special registration drives to help students settle in and connect with community
- Assurance of support from High Commission and Indian diaspora in the UK

As thousands of Indian students prepare to begin their academic journeys in Britain this year, the High Commission of India is extending a warm welcome and practical support. In a video message earlier this month, High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswami assured the incoming students that the High Commission and its consulates across the UK are ready to assist them as they settle into their new lives abroad.
Acknowledging the challenges of moving to a new country, Doraiswami encouraged students to register with their nearest consulate or the High Commission in London. Special Student Registration Drives will be held from October 21 to 24, 2025, providing an opportunity for students to register themselves, seek help with banking or remittance queries, and connect with the larger Indian student community.
The High Commissioner emphasized that the initiative aims to make new arrivals feel supported both socially and practically. He also urged students to follow the High Commission's social media platforms for regular updates on events and important information. Doraiswami concluded his message by assuring the students of a welcoming atmosphere across the UK, from the universities to the Indian diaspora communities.
