It will feature dedicated spaces for yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and aerobics, catering to the overall well-being of students and faculty.
Director Rajeev Ahuja highlighted the center's role in fostering mental health and physical resilience within the demanding academic environment at IIT Ropar. Dr. Ishan Shivanand emphasized the scientific validation of yogic practices for stress management. The center plans to host daily yoga and meditation sessions, stress management programs, and faculty wellness initiatives, serving as a potential model for other educational institutions.
Complementing these wellness initiatives, IIT Ropar also announced the Dr. Ishan Shivanand Scholarship for Gifted Youth.
