This initiative marks the first time younger students, specifically those in Class 9, can participate, allowing them to explore their interests and potential career directions early on.
Applications for the October 2026 cohort will be accepted until September 20, 2026. The program itself is scheduled to begin on October 5, 2026. This flagship outreach effort by IIT Madras's Centre for Outreach and Digital Education (CODE) has already seen significant engagement, with over 4,900 schools and more than 1.75 lakh students participating.
The School Connect Program offers an 8-week online learning experience, featuring lectures, live sessions, and assignments. Students can explore a diverse range of 17 future-focused disciplines, including Data Science & AI, Aerospace, Cybersecurity, Economics & Finance, Law, Design, Humanities, and Game Technology. Instruction is provided by IIT Madras faculty and other leading institutions.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive an official IIT Madras CODE e-certificate. The program is designed to bridge the gap between school education and higher education, enabling students to make more informed decisions about their academic and professional futures.
