Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has introduced a new Bachelor of Science (BS) in Management and Data Science program, commencing in June 2026. This interdisciplinary undergraduate offering is designed to merge business decision-making with data science expertise, preparing students for future professional challenges.
The program is open to anyone who has completed Class 12 or equivalent, with no age or seat limitations. It follows a hybrid learning model, combining recorded lectures from IIT Madras faculty with live tutorial sessions and case discussions, allowing for flexible, self-paced study.
Graduates will receive a BS degree from IIT Madras, carrying the same academic recognition as other degrees. This marks the fourth BS program launched by the institute, following similar initiatives in Data Science, Electronic Systems, and Aeronautics.
This new course aims to democratize access to IIT-quality education, reaching a wider audience. The curriculum emphasizes quantitative thinking and data-driven problem-solving, equipping learners for roles such as Business Analyst, Data Scientist, and Financial Analyst in an increasingly data-centric global economy.
