Headteacher Struck Off for 'Predatory' School Expositions
28 Nov
Summary
- Headteacher banned from schools in Wales for at least 14 years.
- Allegations included exposing himself to colleagues on school trips and office.
- He was filmed golfing while claiming ill health to avoid investigation.

James Richards, a former headteacher from Swansea, has been permanently banned from working in Welsh schools following a professional standards panel ruling. The panel found all allegations against him proven, citing "predatory" and "sexualised" behavior including exposing his penis to multiple female colleagues on school trips and within the school office.
Staff described being left "shocked," "numb," and "frightened" by Richards' actions. He even showed "dick pics" from his phone and videos of himself during work-related interactions. Despite claims of ill health and cognitive issues hindering his participation in investigations, he was filmed by a council fraud team playing golf, demonstrating dishonesty.
The panel determined his conduct was sexual in nature and constituted unacceptable professional behavior, posing a significant risk. Richards has been removed from the Education Workforce Council register and cannot apply for reinstatement until at least November 2040.
