Monsoon Safety: Gurgaon Schools Get Strict Bus Rules
25 Aug
Summary
- Schools banned from using waterlogged routes for student transport.
- Traffic police to provide real-time updates on bus route conditions.
- Spare buses will be arranged for stranded students during heavy rain.

Gurgaon district administration has mandated new safety protocols for school buses during the monsoon season, effective until September 30, 2026. District Magistrate Uttam Singh issued directives requiring schools to avoid waterlogged routes and utilize alternate paths. If no safe alternative exists, students will remain supervised at school, and parents will be notified.
Traffic police will provide daily route reports detailing clear, slow-moving, or waterlogged stretches. Flash updates will be issued following intense rain. Schools must also stagger dispersal times and ensure no child is dropped at an unattended or flooded stop. Drivers are forbidden from entering waterlogged areas or underpasses. Spare buses will be stationed by traffic authorities and Haryana Roadways to assist stranded students, ensuring they are safely transported back to school or a secure location.
