Summary
- Kerala board exams in Middle East centers are postponed.
- Decision made due to escalating West Asia tensions and conflict.
- Affected students can apply for consideration of their situation.

The Kerala government has postponed several board examinations at Middle East centers due to escalating conflict and security concerns in West Asia. State General Education Minister V. Sivankutty announced the decision on Monday, noting that the volatile situation has made conducting exams in the Gulf region a significant challenge.
The SSLC examination originally scheduled for March 5 in Gulf centers has been deferred. Additionally, Higher Secondary examinations set for March 5, 6, and 7 have also been postponed. Revised dates for these tests will be announced at a later time.
The move comes in response to growing anxiety among the expatriate community. Many students fear that flight disruptions and local travel restrictions could prevent them from reaching examination halls. The Minister assured that the General Education Department will support affected students to ensure their academic futures are not jeopardized by these geopolitical developments.
Students unable to appear for their exams are advised to submit applications through their school principals to the Director of General Education as soon as possible. Each case will be reviewed on its merit, with the department intending to make decisions favorable to the students. Currently, 633 Class 10 students are registered across seven centers in the Middle East, along with numerous Class 12 candidates. Education authorities continue to monitor the situation and will provide further updates as necessary.
