The University of Delhi has recorded an overwhelming response for its 2026-27 undergraduate admissions, with more than 1.9 lakh students registering via the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). As of July 12, 2026, over 1.64 lakh applicants have submitted their programme and college preferences, moving the process closer to the first seat allocation. The university will release this crucial first list on July 16.
DU is offering 73 undergraduate programmes across 69 colleges, providing 71,624 seats. To accommodate applicants, a one-time correction window has been opened on the CSAS portal, allowing candidates to fix any errors in their initial applications. This facility runs concurrently with the final phase of registration and preference submission.
Admissions, including those under supernumerary categories, are based on submitted preferences. Candidates who secure a seat must accept it and complete formalities, with options to freeze or upgrade. A virtual wallet system for fee payments has been introduced to streamline the process across multiple allocation rounds. The university aims to complete two rounds before the academic session begins on July 28.
