DU Goes Digital: Report Campus Defacement Online!

Delhi University has introduced an innovative online portal aimed at curbing defacement of public property during student union elections. This digital platform empowers not only students but also any member of the public to report instances of unauthorized posters, graffiti, and other campaign-related damage. The university's chief election officer, Raj Kishore Sharma, emphasized that the portal seeks to promote civilised student elections and minimize public inconvenience.

Complaints submitted through the portal require a brief description, details of alleged perpetrators, and crucially, geo-tagged photographs or videos as evidence. The system permits up to five JPG, PNG, or MP4 files, each not exceeding 10 MB, ensuring robust documentation. This measure is expected to deter candidates from defacing campus and public spaces, fostering greater accountability among participants and encouraging student participation in maintaining campus aesthetics.
