Delhi government schools are embarking on a comprehensive, year-long initiative to raise awareness about air pollution. This educational program will educate students on the diverse sources of pollution affecting the national capital. Activities such as poster making, slogan writing, and street plays will be utilized to engage students.
The awareness campaign, spanning from July 2026 to March 2027, will address specific pollution contributors monthly. These include vehicular emissions, road dust, construction, waste burning, industrial sources, power plants, and diesel generators. Additionally, schools will educate students about the ban on sharp kite-flying manjha.
This action plan, prepared in line with the Commission for Air Quality Management framework and Delhi Pollution Control Committee directives, commenced this month. District education officers are tasked with ensuring implementation and submitting monthly reports with photographic evidence to the Science Branch.
