Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU) in Kanpur has been awarded the SWAYAM-NPTEL Aspirant Award by IIT Kanpur for its advancements in technology-enabled higher education. The accolade was presented at a workshop, acknowledging CSJMU's successful integration of digital learning platforms across its network, establishing it as a leader in Uttar Pradesh for online academic engagement.
IIT Kanpur officials commended CSJMU as a highly organized institution for its use of the SWAYAM-NPTEL framework, noting high student participation and effective coordination. The university's strategy, deemed an exemplary model, was built on clear policy decisions, consistent monitoring, and communication with its coordinators. This digital drive has seen student enrollments from more than 700 affiliated colleges.
A 2024 decision by CSJMU's Academic Council, aligning with a Uttar Pradesh government order, integrated SWAYAM and NPTEL courses into its formal academic system. This allows students to enhance their degrees with specialized certifications, with a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in place to simplify registration and access to resources.
