Community Hub Needs Urgent Funds

Braunstone Adventure Playground, described as the last free-for-all center for children on its estate, is in urgent need of financial support. Co-manager Mel Elsworthy highlighted that the facility, which offers a games hall, dance studio, art room, and darkroom, is a critical lifeline for the community.

This Christmas, the center is facing the difficult prospect of making staff redundancies to ensure its future operations. While local tradespeople have generously stepped in to address immediate issues like a leaky roof, Elsworthy emphasizes the need for sustained funding to maintain the essential services provided.

The playground continues to welcome children, but the essential repairs, particularly to the roof, require further financial investment. Without this, the future of this valuable community resource remains uncertain.
