The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) is organizing a comprehensive, three-tier national initiative dedicated to student mental health and well-being. This extensive program is set to engage nearly 1.6 million students across Classes VI to XII, involving over 32,000 teachers and more than 3,300 affiliated schools.
The initiative, named the CISCE Student Mental Health and Well-Being Conclave 2026, commences with school-level dialogues scheduled from October 4 to 31. These weekly classroom discussions will cover critical topics such as academic pressure, emotional well-being, substance abuse, and resilience.
Following the school-level engagement, Regional Student Mental Health and Well-Being Conclaves will convene virtually from November 4 to 14. These regional events will pave the way for the national conclave.
The culminating event, the National Student Mental Health and Well-Being Conclave, will take place in Hyderabad from November 20 to 22. This summit will bring together student representatives, teacher mentors, and experts to develop a CISCE Student Mental Health Charter.
This charter aims to establish principles and recommendations for creating supportive and safe school environments. The initiative also plans to develop a Student Well-being Index and a White Paper on adolescent mental health concerns.
