Champion of Education, Chris Robertson, Dies at 76

Chris Robertson, a distinguished teacher educator, has died at the age of 76. She was celebrated for her warm heart and deep commitment to her students throughout her impactful career. Robertson's educational journey began in the 1970s with teaching and school leadership roles, progressing to authority-wide leadership in Derby.

Her academic leadership saw her head primary teacher training at Manchester Metropolitan University before her significant appointment as head of the Institute of Education at the University of Worcester in 2002. Under her direction, the institute became a leading educator for teachers and early years professionals, collaborating with over 500 schools.

Robertson's influence extended nationally as she championed excellence in teacher education and contributed to the 'Every Child Matters' green paper. Her efforts were recognized with an MBE in 2013. She continued to advocate for children's welfare and development until her illness.
