Chennai's Poppiliraja Government Higher Secondary School now hosts a new multi-sensory park, inaugurated by School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi. This facility is specifically designed to enhance the sensory, cognitive, and motor abilities of children with disabilities through interactive play.

The park features various play equipment, including slides, swings, and a ball pit, offering a therapeutic experience for students with conditions such as autism, ADHD, and cerebral palsy. This project is part of a broader initiative announced in the 2024-25 budget.

This park is the first of 20 multi-sensory parks planned for 20 districts across Tamil Nadu. Each park will be established at a cost of ₹ 5.13 lakh, with the total statewide project budget set at ₹ 2.6 crore, benefiting hundreds of students with disabilities.
