The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has directed all its affiliated schools to organize a 30-minute sensitisation and orientation module on inclusive education for Children with Special Needs (CwSN). This mandatory session is scheduled for October 7, 2026, and aims to cultivate sensitivity, empathy, and an inclusive attitude among all school staff, including teaching and non-teaching personnel.
The module, developed in accordance with directives from the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, is accessible via the PRASHAST portal. Its primary objective is to help staff better understand the unique needs and challenges faced by CwSN. By promoting respectful and inclusive practices, the initiative seeks to enhance the school environment for these students.
This training is a crucial component of the PRASHAST Screening Initiative, which focuses on early identification and intervention for students with probable disabilities. The CBSE emphasizes that sensitizing staff is vital for ensuring CwSN receive appropriate support within schools. Schools are urged to ensure maximum staff engagement, with the Board tracking national participation rates.
