The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the postponement of board examinations for Class 10 and Class 12 students. The exams, initially scheduled for Monday, March 2, 2026, will not proceed in CBSE-affiliated schools across seven Middle Eastern countries.
This decision comes in response to the prevailing security situation in the region. The affected nations are Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The Board issued an official notice on Sunday, March 1, 2026, to communicate this change.
CBSE Controller of Examinations Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj stated that a review of the situation will take place on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Following this review, revised dates for the postponed examinations will be announced, along with clarity on exams scheduled from March 5 onwards. This follows a viral fake circular that had caused anxiety among students and parents.
