ICAI Postpones Key CA Intermediate Exam Paper Scheduled for Jan 19, 2026

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has officially postponed the Chartered Accountant Intermediate Examination, Group II, Paper - 5, focusing on Auditing and Ethics. This exam was slated to take place on January 19, 2026, across India and internationally. The ICAI has stated that a new date for this postponed paper will be communicated at a later time.
Despite the postponement of Paper 5, the ICAI has assured that there will be no alterations to the schedule of any other examinations. All remaining papers for the CA Intermediate January 2026 exams are set to proceed exactly as initially announced. This ensures minimal disruption for the majority of candidates preparing for the upcoming examinations.
This is not the first time this particular paper has faced a schedule change. The Auditing and Ethics exam was previously scheduled for January 15, 2026, before this latest adjustment. The rescheduling applies universally to all examination centers, both within India and at overseas locations.
