The Bihar Matriculation examination commenced peacefully on Tuesday, with over 1.6 million students appearing for the Hindi language paper across 1,699 centers. Strict security arrangements, including frisking and videography, were in place to ensure a smooth process. Subject experts described the Hindi paper as average in difficulty and well within the syllabus, noting that students who had prepared thoroughly from textbooks could perform well. The paper offered 100% additional choice in both objective and subjective questions. Special arrangements were made at four 'model centers' in Patna, designated as all-women facilities. Despite the overall peaceful conduct, five examinees were expelled for unfair means and nine for impersonation on the first day. The mathematics paper is scheduled for Wednesday.
