Construction of the permanent campus for Shri Krishna AYUSH University, India's premier institution for Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy (AYUSH), is slated to begin shortly. The Haryana government has awarded the first phase of construction, valued at ₹465 crore, to Deepak Builders and Engineers India Limited. This initial phase is projected to be completed within two and a half years.
The new campus will be situated on approximately 100 acres in Fatehpur village, Kurukshetra. This ambitious project, initially announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2017, will transform the existing Shri Krishna Government Ayurvedic College into a state-of-the-art university. The completed campus is intended to be a hub for world-class academic, healthcare, and research facilities in the AYUSH sector.
Key infrastructure to be developed in the first phase includes administrative blocks, a central library, an auditorium, specialized hospitals for ayurvedic and naturopathy treatments, postgraduate college facilities, a research center, hostels, and essential utilities. The Vice-Chancellor emphasized the university's commitment to fostering excellence and attracting students and researchers globally.
