- Charity works with NHS to deliver art as prescriptions
- Expansion will allow more partnerships and creative projects

In a significant development, an art charity called Art Shape has found a new home in the recently opened University of Gloucestershire's City Campus in Gloucester. The £75m campus, which officially opened its doors on August 1st, 2025, is set to be a hub for 1,200 students and staff.
Art Shape, which collaborates with the NHS to provide art-based prescriptions, is thrilled to be part of this new campus. According to Kate Cox from the charity, the move will allow them to expand their work linking creativity with wellbeing. "It's been amazing... to meet so many new partners and different organisations that we're going to be working alongside," she said.
The new campus was transformed from the old Debenhams department store in Gloucester's King's Square, showcasing the city's commitment to repurposing existing infrastructure for educational and community purposes. This innovative project is expected to have a positive impact on the local arts and healthcare sectors, as Art Shape continues to explore new ways of integrating creative practices into the wellbeing of the community.
