First-Year Student Alleges Harassment by Seniors at Medical College

On November 15, 2025, a first-year student at Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College filed an anonymous complaint with the University Grants Commission's anti-ragging helpline, alleging incidents of ragging by senior students. According to the complaint, the junior students were recently called to the hostel under the pretext of an introduction session, where they were made to stand for over two hours and instructed not to make eye contact with the seniors.
The complainant further stated that the juniors were required to speak in pure Hindi and remember the names of their seniors, as well as follow them on social media accounts. They were also allegedly threatened not to report the matter to the college authorities.
