The Union health ministry has approved 50 MBBS seats for the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rewari, marking a significant step towards its operationalization. This approval permits the commencement of the medical course for the 2026-27 academic session.
The institute is actively preparing for its launch, with advertisements issued for administrative positions and ongoing recruitment for over 1,700 officers and staff members. While approval for certain positions from the Union finance ministry is still awaited, it is expected shortly.
Once fully established, AIIMS Rewari will feature a 750-bed hospital with an Outpatient Department (OPD) facility designed to cater to 1,500 patients daily. The campus will also host a 100-seat medical college, 25 super-speciality departments, and a nursing college, alongside various other planned amenities.
