The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has introduced four significant schemes for the 2026-27 academic year, designed to reinforce technical education institutions across India. Launched under the Institutional Development Cell (IDC) by AICTE Chairman Professor Yogesh Singh, these initiatives aim to enhance laboratory facilities, upgrade institutional infrastructure, and provide crucial academic guidance.
The IDEA Lab scheme encourages students to move beyond classroom learning, fostering innovation and practical application of STEM concepts through a learning-by-doing approach. The MODROBS scheme provides support for institutions to upgrade their infrastructure, ensuring access to facilities vital for research, teaching, and practical training.
Furthermore, the Margdarshan scheme focuses on strengthening colleges through academic monitoring, with established institutions offering guidance to improve academic practices and resource sharing. The Grant for Organising Conference (GOC) scheme supports institutions in conducting national and international academic conferences, facilitating knowledge exchange among experts and researchers.
