Doctors: Tech Essential, Compassion Key

The increasing integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning into healthcare professions has been highlighted as essential in today's rapidly evolving technological landscape. This sentiment was shared by BLDE University vice-chancellor Dr. Arun Inamdar during the fourth convocation ceremony of SDM University. He stated that advanced technologies offer significant support to the medical field but stressed that expertise, specialization, and skills must be continuously honed by doctors and healthcare professionals.

Dr. Inamdar further advised graduating students to focus on purposeful and dedicated efforts, emphasizing that success follows commitment and that comparing oneself to others is unproductive. He reminded them that providing patient care with patience and compassion should be their primary duty. Degrees were conferred upon 397 undergraduate students, 180 postgraduate students, and seven PhD scholars during the ceremony.

SDM University vice-chancellor Dr. Niranjankumar added that medical institutions should prioritize quality treatment and education over commercial interests. He also stressed the importance for students and professionals to manage the demanding nature of the medical profession by cultivating hobbies and healthy habits such as reading, music, sports, yoga, or meditation for stress management.
