Buxton, who had been with Virgin Atlantic for two years, received immediate care from the London Air Ambulance and was subsequently treated in the Intensive Care Unit at St. Mary's Hospital. Despite extensive medical efforts over 27 days, his injuries proved too severe.
A criminal investigation has been launched by the Metropolitan Police in collaboration with the Health and Safety Executive. An inquest into Buxton's death has been opened and suspended pending the outcome of the criminal proceedings.
In his memory, Buxton's family has initiated a fundraising appeal for the London Air Ambulance and the St. Mary's Hospital ICU. They shared that the page has already raised over £26,604, with the goal of supporting vital services and enhancing patient family care.
