Geological hazards along access roads are also being assessed, with continuous monitoring of rainfall and water levels in key river basins.
The Aug 26 disaster resulted in 21 confirmed deaths and 541 missing individuals as of Wednesday noon. Officials noted the challenges posed by the area's steep terrain and complex geology for early detection. Future strategies involve integrating satellite data, drone surveys, ground monitoring, and cross-border information sharing to bolster hazard management.
