Pupils at Green Park School in Wolverhampton were sent home yesterday after an unusual odor was detected near the swimming pool, causing some children to feel unwell.
Emergency services, including three fire engines and paramedics, responded to the incident. Several children were treated after reporting nausea. The school, which caters to students with complex learning difficulties, closed to all staff and pupils.
As a precautionary measure, the nearby Stowlawn Primary School also temporarily closed. Specialist monitoring equipment did not detect any concerning substances. The source of the odor is believed to be a mechanical issue, and an investigation is underway.
