Widow Killed, Cousin Injured in Kanpur Tanker Crash

On the morning of November 2, 2025, a tragic accident occurred on the Kanpur-Prayagraj Rooma Highway near the Maharajpur police station area. Two cousins, Radha (27) and Renu, were crushed by a tanker while on their way to work at an engineering college.
Radha, a resident of Adarsh Vihar in Koyla Nagar, Kanpur, died on the spot. Her cousin Renu, a native of Tadbagiya in Jajmau, Kanpur Dehat, suffered fractures in her left arm and right leg and was rushed to Hallet Hospital for treatment.
According to the police, the tanker driver was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and fled the scene immediately after the incident. Radha, who had been living with her young daughter Naina for the past two years, was originally from the village of Siphiya in Saifai, Etawah. Her husband, Indrapal, had been shot dead several years ago in a rivalry over local elections.
The police have seized the tanker and sent Radha's body for a post-mortem examination. An investigation into the incident is ongoing, and the authorities are working to track down the absconding driver.
