A wall collapse at the Rama Laxminarayan Convention Hall on Saturday resulted in injuries to five students. The incident occurred during a gathering for a college student union event. Authorities confirmed that the injured students were taken to Highland Hospital for treatment.
One student, identified as 16-year-old Mohammed Shamaj, is currently in critical condition in the intensive care unit. The other four injured students are Mohammed Shanan Ahmed (18), Haneef (23), Dawood Farsin Ahmed (18), and Mohammed Shakeel Hussain (18).
Preliminary reports suggest a large number of students had gathered, leading to overcrowding. Some attendees were reportedly standing in a corridor and leaned against the wall, which subsequently collapsed.
