Viral SUV Crash: AI Fakery or Real Accident?
20 Feb
Summary
- Viral video shows SUV embedded in Delhi-Jaipur highway sign.
- Nonsensical text on signboard and car plate suggest AI.
- AI detection tools indicate content is AI-generated or deepfake.

A video depicting a Mahindra Thar SUV seemingly embedded halfway through a large sign bridge on the Delhi-Jaipur highway has gone viral on social media. The clip has ignited widespread discussion, with many questioning its authenticity and speculating it could be a marketing stunt or an AI-generated fabrication.
Closer examination of the video reveals several anomalies that point towards AI manipulation. The text on the signboard includes nonsensical letter and number strings instead of location names, and the vehicle's number plate does not conform to standard Indian formats. News agency PTI utilized AI detection tools, Hive Moderation and Truth Scan, which indicated a high probability of the content being AI-generated or a deepfake.
While some viewers initially suggested a real accident where a driver lost control, the evidence of digital manipulation is substantial. The possibility remains that the video is a composite of real footage and AI-generated elements, further blurring the lines between reality and artificial creation in digital media.
