A senior individual has passed away from injuries sustained during a "vehicle ramming" incident in Vancouver earlier this month. The victim, who was riding a motorized scooter, suffered critical injuries in the May 15 event. The incident began around 5:30 p.m. PT in the West End, following reports of a vehicle being driven erratically, impacting various objects and narrowly missing pedestrians.
Two police officers, including one on their second day of duty, were also injured while responding. The suspect’s erratic driving spree concluded when they rammed a police cruiser, causing their own vehicle to flip. Tadd Bali, 34, has been charged with four counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm. Authorities are investigating mental health and drug use as potential contributing factors and are submitting further evidence for additional charges.
