As of November 5th, 2025, the Uttar Pradesh police have taken a decisive step to address the rising number of road accidents in the state. Through data analysis, they have identified 233 police station areas across 20 districts that collectively account for nearly 80% of such incidents.
To tackle this critical issue, the director general of police, Rajeev Krishna, has directed the deployment of specialized teams focused on road accident investigation and prevention in these high-risk zones. Each team will comprise one sub-inspector and four constables, specifically trained to handle accident-related cases.
