15 Nov
Summary
- 16-year-old boy fell 60 feet from Utah utility tower
- Same tower where another teen died in 2007 under similar circumstances
- Community demands increased security measures to prevent future tragedies

On November 14, 2025, a 16-year-old boy tragically plummeted approximately 60 feet to his death from a Rocky Mountain Power structure in Fruit Heights, Utah, about 25 miles outside of Salt Lake City. The incident occurred in the same location where 15-year-old Scott Nye was electrocuted and fell to his death in a similar accident back in 2007.
According to the Davis County Sheriff's Office, the unidentified teen was with a group of other teenagers when he climbed the utility tower. When first responders arrived, they found the boy suffering from severe burns consistent with electrocution, as well as traumatic injuries from the fall. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
