In Prayagraj, the Yamuna and Ganga showed fluctuating levels, with concerns rising due to water releases from dams in Madhya Pradesh. However, the rivers remained below the danger mark. Despite this, several riverfront neighborhoods were submerged, leading to the activation of 88 flood relief posts and deployment of NDRF, PAC, and Jal Police.
Chitrakoot witnessed the Mandakini river swell to dangerous levels after heavy rain, inundating areas like Ramghat and submerging a bridge connecting Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Over 60 people were evacuated, and hundreds of houses were damaged or collapsed.
Eastern Uttar Pradesh, including Varanasi, Ballia, and Ghazipur, reported the Ganga crossing warning and danger levels. Authorities in these districts have established relief camps and deployed boats, while also monitoring dams and evacuating families from vulnerable zones.
