Typhoon Narra Unleashes Floods, Landslides on Vietnam and China

Typhoon Narra has brought destructive floods and landslides to northern Vietnam and China's Guangxi region, with accompanying heavy rains causing significant damage. In China, authorities relocated around 54,000 people, including 8,087 to emergency shelters, as river levels exceeded warning thresholds in numerous locations.

Northern Vietnam experienced fatalities and widespread displacement, with one person confirmed dead and over 4,300 households forced to evacuate. Provinces like Lang Son and Cao Bang received extreme rainfall, triggering landslides. The typhoon's impact extended to Quang Ninh, disrupting tourism and transport, and damaging over 10,000 hectares of crops.

Daily life was significantly affected, with schools and offices closed, and power supplies cut to nearly 55,000 families. The storm's passage over the Beibu Gulf, while not expected to make landfall, continued to bring heavy downpours to affected areas. Forecasts indicated continued torrential rain in Guangxi and surrounding provinces through Wednesday.
