Typhoon Dolphin Slams Central China

Typhoon Dolphin has made landfall in China's central Hubei province, leading to the closure of tourist sites and the halting of construction projects. Authorities are issuing warnings for extreme rainfall, particularly in the northwestern mountainous regions, with forecasts predicting up to 250 mm of rain in a 24-hour period for these areas. Scenic locations, including the Three Gorges Dam tourist area, have announced temporary closures.

Authorities have also suspended 26 high-risk construction projects across the province due to heightened risks of flooding and landslides. The storm's impact is being felt as far north as Beijing, with emergency flood responses activated in four districts on the capital's outskirts. Meanwhile, Japan is also preparing for potential landslides, flooding, and strong winds as another typhoon approaches.
