Eyewitnesses reported seeing the fire take hold and spread with alarming speed. As the situation escalated, members of the community rushed to help, ultimately smashing a window to facilitate the escape of the aunt and her cousin.
Emergency services were alerted around 2:30 PM and responded with four appliances. Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire affecting the single-storey building. Both rescued individuals were placed under the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service, with crews remaining at the scene.
