Two Killed, Three Injured in Mumbai Building Site Collapse

A tragic construction site accident in Mumbai's Byculla area has left two laborers dead and three others injured. The incident occurred on November 12, 2025, at around 2:41 PM, during the course of foundation and piling work at a building site.
According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), as the construction work was underway, a portion of the soil and mud caved in, falling upon the laborers. The deceased have been identified as Rahul, aged 30, and Raju, aged 28. The three injured individuals, Sajjad Ali (25), Sobat Ali (28), and Lal Mohammad (18), were rushed to the Nair hospital and are now reported to be in stable condition.
In the aftermath of the incident, the BMC has issued a stop work notice to the developer, identified as Ibrahim Jusub Supariwala. The civic authorities have stated that the excavation work was carried out without any proper safety measures, which led to the tragic collapse and loss of life.
The BMC's E-ward office has also directed the Agripada police station to remove all workers from the site to prevent any further development work. The police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the collapse and determine if any offenses should be registered.
