Investigations revealed that a 25-year-old driver, operating a blue Ford Focus, entered the interstate traveling in the wrong direction from Exit 49.

This vehicle then collided head-on with a red Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by a 54-year-old, in the leftmost southbound lane. Both drivers were pronounced deceased at the scene.
