Two separate road accidents in Trichy have resulted in the deaths of two people, including a 72-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman. The first incident involved E Chokkalingam, 72, who died Friday night after a private bus struck his moped near the Kalaignar Arivalayam signal. He sustained severe injuries and passed away at a private hospital.
In another accident, A Valliammal, 65, died on Friday evening while undergoing treatment at Trichy Government Hospital. She was hit by a motorcycle on June 29 while crossing the Trichy-Dindigul Road. The drivers of both vehicles have been booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for rash and negligent driving causing death.
