Authorities confirmed on Tuesday morning that a five-year-old boy involved in the collision had also passed away. He had been receiving treatment at Bristol Children's Hospital. A woman in her 70s sustained serious injuries and is currently being treated at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
Another woman, in her 40s, who was in the same car as the injured women and children, received treatment and has since been discharged. Police arrested a local man in his 60s on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He was treated for minor injuries and has been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
