A tragic incident occurred at Walt Disney World on October 15, 2025, when a person died in an apparent suicide at one of the resort's hotels. The Orange County Sheriff's Department confirmed the death, dispelling earlier rumors that the guest had been struck by the monorail.
According to the authorities, the person "was NOT struck by the monorail, so that is erroneous information." Video footage from the scene showed a white pop-up tent being erected on a terrace near the Disney's Contemporary Resort, close to the monorail track, which may have led to the initial confusion.
This incident comes just weeks after a woman experienced a health issue and died after going through The Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland. The Anaheim park has also seen a spate of three fatal falls from parking garages in less than a year between 2022 and 2023.
While the details surrounding the Walt Disney World tragedy remain under investigation, the resort's management has been contacted for comment. This latest incident has undoubtedly left a somber cloud over the magical world of Disney.
